(Also, do you pronounce Reuben ROO-ben or REH-oo-ben? And is Ben as common as I've read? )

Roo-ben. Never reh-oo-ben. Do you just not know how to pronounce it or do you actually know someone who pronounces it that way??

Reh-oo-ben is the hebrew pronounciation actually! I've always heard it that way, but listening to a song a while ago I heard it pronounced roo-ben (while the lyrics said Reuben) and I got confused because I thought that even english-speaking people said reh-oo-ben.

So... I guess the pronounciation depends on the knowledge of hebrew/judaism of the person who reads :P
