Dec. 5th, 2006 04:00 amWhat are names in other languages that are the equivalent of James? I want to give my [future] kids names honoring people that have shaped my life,--James is my brother's middle name--but I don't like common names.

Date: 2006-12-05 03:27 pm (UTC)About Diego equivalent of James: Diego is probably a variant of Santiago, which is a combination of "saint" + Iago (form of James). However, behindthename says it's most probably derived from the medieval name Didacus, meaning "teaching" (from ancient greek). No James there, then.
A variant of Diego is Dago, also.
