...to give my children names that belonged to some of my favorite authors?

Emily Charlotte (f)- for the Bronte sisters.
James Eliot (m)- for James Joyce and TS Eliot.
Austen Wolff (m)- for Jane Austen and Virginia Wolff.

I've thought of other combinations, but I can't remember any of them off the top of my head at the moment. I should really make a list...

Anyway, this is something that I've wanted to do for a good long while, now, and my husband has never been against it, but he's never really agreed either.

What do you think?

Austen Wolff (m)- for Jane Austen and Virginia Wolff.

That would be terrible, since it's spelled Woolf.

Austen Woolf would be a great name.

Actually, I like all your names.

That's what i originally thought, but no. The description on youtube says:

"Sister Dimension stars as Grandpa Hoofpynpoiers (sp?);
RuPaul is still in pre-Supermodel phase since she is trying to to pass for a lady in one of her favorite off-the-rack Dress Barn ensembles - you still need to fix those teeth you skanky ho.
And my! golly gosh! Lady Buinny gives us only one chin to gawk at!
Supporting cast is David Dalrymple,Maria Ayala. and the ever-lasting piece of sex on a stick, Ms. Lahoma Van Zandt"

Emily Charlotte is nice. Emily's a bit popular, but it's pretty.
James Eliot is lovely.
Austen I like, Woolf/Wollf, not so much...Maybe if it were spelt Wolf, but I know thats not how the author spells her name, so.. :)

I like the first two, though I'm less keen on the third.

(I'd like to call a daughter Catherine, shortened to Cathy, after Cathy Earnshaw, but shhhh, I never said that. She didn't exactly have the happiest end, did she?!)

I don't care for the Austen spelling on a guy. Otherwise, the names are nice.

I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as you like the names as well.

I know an Emily Charlotte!

my husband wants to, but his favorite authors all died before Jesus was born, so... the only author name we've both considered is Rudyard. didn't make the cut though.

I like the name Austin, but I don't know that a male would be thrilled about being named after Jane :/

I actually like the first two..
The third wouldn't be so bad, except I imagine it would be slightly uncomfortable for a boy to have to repeat, "It's Austen, as in Jane" his whole life.. LOL

I think it's wonderful. My daughter's MN is Catherine, in part after the Catherine in Wuthering Heights. I know she had a sad end, but I love her spirit. He first name, Abigael, was chosen in part because she was born the year Arthur Miller died and I wanted to honor him in a small way (even though his Abigail wasn't the kindest).
I plan on using either Emile or Zola on a boy after the French author.
