When I taught swim lessons, I had a little boy named Colton. He was about a year old at the time, so he's maybe 4 now.
I don't like it because it's hard for me to say. Something about the way I talk or something, but maybe it's a regional thing that it's hard to say because even his mother had a hard time getting it out sometimes. It just doesn't roll off my/our tongues well.
I've known a lot of kids with the name - actually, I think it's a little too trendy for my liking. It's funny that you've never heard it - and it can't be regional, since I'm in Canada, and another poster said it's common in NZ... you must just be lucky, I guess. ;)
That's how certain Americans pronounced the name of a former co-worker of mine - Carlton. Totally different pronunciation in our accent but they couldn't hear the difference.
