[identity profile] fluffyyduck.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
A friend of mine has a little boy named Daya. When I asked where she got the name she said her husband came up with it and it's an Indian name. All I've been able to find is that it's a Hindu and a Hebrew girls name.

When I first heard it I thought it was unusual, but not necessarily bad. Now it's grown on me and I've gotten to like it.

WDYT?

My Fiancee worked with a man named Daya who is Indian. His name is short for Dayadin.

A friend of mine has a daughter named Damyen (SP? -something Kree8yve and uneek, too) and she calls her Daya. I quite like it, even if I dislike the Damyienne or whatever her full name is.

In my friend's defense, she was 14 at the time. :P

It's not my style, but it's not bad.
