Narrowed...

I created a top 6: Abram, Brady, Brayden, Christian, Hagen, and Keagan.

From that list we narrowed it down to: Brayden, Keagan, and Christian.

(Everyone of my friends keeps on saying "Brayden", but I dont know if I can look past the popularity of the 'aden' trend)

If you use Brayden, I may shoot myself in the face.

[identity profile] morphinae.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
A little nicer, please.

[identity profile] screaming--pink.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Just joking around, my bad.

[identity profile] morphinae.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Good, no drama then. ..and I'm the MOD, and usually things like that start big dramatic battles, so let's just all be nice nice.

[identity profile] politicking.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
i like the name Christian :)

[identity profile] abandoneddream.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
agreed! :)

[identity profile] thunderofsins.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd stay away from Brayden...it fits right in with the Aiden, Brayden, Jayden, Kayden thing that is so popular right now. I'm not a fan of Keagan or Christian, but those are both MUCH better choices than anything else on your list.

[identity profile] ewaeva.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Anything but Brayden. Please. The world does not need another -aden/-ayden.

Keagan is OK, and I really like Christian - it seems to be quite rare these days.

[identity profile] mrsduryee.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
OF those I only like Christian. But really, I only like it if you are a Christian. Its kind of weird otherwise. I think.

[identity profile] mrsduryee.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Of your six I love Abram the most, btw.

[identity profile] mrsduryee.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Perfect choice then. Since it means "Little Christ," I'd hate to have that name if I didn't want to be like Jesus. :)

[identity profile] so-there.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Abram and Christian are the only decent names on the list, and since you've already ruled out Abram... I vote Christian.

[identity profile] quiteoutofplace.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh, I love your icon.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Not a huge fan of any of them, but I vote for Christian. Brayden is awful, I hate the -aden trend and I hate the bray sound... it's too donkey-like. Keagan is okay if not very trendy sounding, which is why I'd avoid it.

[identity profile] xcuore.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I ♥ Hagen!
&& Keagen is great^^
Keagen Hagen was something i wanted to suggest, but the double -en sound might be a little irritating..

no offence but; i wouldnt use Christian on your child, what if he later decides to be atheist?

[identity profile] neuraltube.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Then he gets to go all emo and sign everything "Xtian."

[identity profile] aintlifesosweet.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
hahaha

[identity profile] pap3r-heart.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Not a huge fan of any of these names, but if I HAD to choose it would be Keegan. I think that looks better than with the 'ea'.

Even though you've eliminated it, I LOVE the name Brady. That and Abram are the names I like best out of the 6 that you originally narrowed it down to.

[identity profile] pap3r-heart.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
PS: Brayden = A HUGE NOOOOO. (for me at least)

I would use AIDEN before I would EVER use Brayden.

[identity profile] pap3r-heart.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohh. So that's obviously a no for that name.
If you really liked 'matching' names for your kids you could always name your next son Weston. I'm half joking/half serious. If that makes sense.

[identity profile] krosp.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah even half serious is terrible!

[identity profile] tiffrobyn.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
My personal favorite is Christian.

[identity profile] miss-tee.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Of your 3, I pick Christian.

[identity profile] ashadelic.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Of the 6, Brady is my favorite.

Of the 3, I like Keegan better than Keagan, but Christian is my fave. I loathe Brayden.

[identity profile] trissyd.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I know it's not your TOP3, but I really prefer "Brady"

[identity profile] super-bitch06.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that your son in your icon? he's precious.

I have to vote Christian. My second choice would be Keagan, though I prefer it Kegan, myself. Just MHO.

[identity profile] museofmyself.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Personally, I would have gone with Abram. Sorry, but your other choices just don't appeal to me at all.

[identity profile] maude.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Christian is very sophisticated and romantic to me, I vote for it!

[identity profile] theangrychicken.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I like Keagan, but I'm not sure how well it goes with Easton. Abram and Easton, IMO, go really well together.

[identity profile] neuraltube.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I like Hagen the best, mostly because it's the least popular!

[identity profile] lavandersparkle.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I am a fan of the -aden trend, but I absolutly hate Brayden cause I've known so many jerks named Brayden.

I don't like any of these names, but I'd have to go with Christian.

[identity profile] bexeh.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
i think brayden is the best but i would spell it braydon, if i was having a boy thats what id chosen as a middle name. i dont like keagan and christian as much but none of them are bad.

[identity profile] bexeh.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
btw being english im not so aware of this aden trend.... is it just me or is it a culture thing? anyways... i disagree with the above comment, i know loads of christians and i voted it out due to it being common.

[identity profile] ewaeva.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think Abram is any less religious than Christian. In fact, to me, it is much more evocative of religion.

Also, I think it's perfectly natural to want to raise your kid in your own tradition and name them traditionally. Would you tell Jewish people not to give their kids traditional Hebrew names from the Bible because their kids might one day not want to be Jewish?

And as much as Christian does have a meaning, it is a name in its own right (it's not one of those crazy Puritan names like "Praisegod"). Many, many names have religious meanings or contain the word "God." It's pretty hard to get away from religious connotations, especially if you like traditional names.

And by the way, I'm sure you know this, but most Christians are not like your parents! :)

[identity profile] elemmennope.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Abram is ok, if a bit religious sounding for my own taste. Keagan is probably my favorite overall though.

Christian is not a word that I think makes an appropriate name. I know it's done often enough, but I really dislike it.
Brady is ok, but seems too informal to me. And Brayden just makes me think of donkeys.
Hagen makes me think of nothing pleasant - hags, haggis, haggard... not a nice sound imo.

[identity profile] aintlifesosweet.livejournal.com 2006-11-06 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I really love Abram.

[identity profile] krosp.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Keagan is exactly equal on the trendiness scale as Brayden is. How about Brendan?

I really like Christian because it sounds so beautiful and classy and has a good meaning to you, but even if you are a Christian, it's kind of a bit overboard I think. Most people don't care, so it should be fine. I just think it's weird for someone's name to also be the name of a religion.

Btw... I have never heard of Hagen but I really don't like it.

[identity profile] septembergrrl.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Keagan or Christian -- I don't really have a preference between them. Brayden will sound badly dated in a few years, when every boy his age is Aidan/Hayden/Jayden.

[identity profile] cassandrakfreaq.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
I love christian as well. I only have known one christian and I have fond memories.

[identity profile] corielcries.livejournal.com 2006-11-09 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Love Abram and Christian, so Christian gets my vote. I'm tired of the -aden trend.
