Narrowed...
Nov. 6th, 2006 10:04 amI created a top 6: Abram, Brady, Brayden, Christian, Hagen, and Keagan.
From that list we narrowed it down to: Brayden, Keagan, and Christian.
(Everyone of my friends keeps on saying "Brayden", but I dont know if I can look past the popularity of the 'aden' trend)

Date: 2006-11-06 04:02 pm (UTC)&& Keagen is great^^
Keagen Hagen was something i wanted to suggest, but the double -en sound might be a little irritating..
no offence but; i wouldnt use Christian on your child, what if he later decides to be atheist?

Date: 2006-11-06 04:40 pm (UTC)Even though you've eliminated it, I LOVE the name Brady. That and Abram are the names I like best out of the 6 that you originally narrowed it down to.

Date: 2006-11-06 04:43 pm (UTC)I would use AIDEN before I would EVER use Brayden.

Date: 2006-11-06 07:35 pm (UTC)If you really liked 'matching' names for your kids you could always name your next son Weston. I'm half joking/half serious. If that makes sense.

Date: 2006-11-06 06:34 pm (UTC)I have to vote Christian. My second choice would be Keagan, though I prefer it Kegan, myself. Just MHO.

Date: 2006-11-07 01:23 am (UTC)Also, I think it's perfectly natural to want to raise your kid in your own tradition and name them traditionally. Would you tell Jewish people not to give their kids traditional Hebrew names from the Bible because their kids might one day not want to be Jewish?
And as much as Christian does have a meaning, it is a name in its own right (it's not one of those crazy Puritan names like "Praisegod"). Many, many names have religious meanings or contain the word "God." It's pretty hard to get away from religious connotations, especially if you like traditional names.
And by the way, I'm sure you know this, but most Christians are not like your parents! :)

Date: 2006-11-06 11:39 pm (UTC)Christian is not a word that I think makes an appropriate name. I know it's done often enough, but I really dislike it.
Brady is ok, but seems too informal to me. And Brayden just makes me think of donkeys.
Hagen makes me think of nothing pleasant - hags, haggis, haggard... not a nice sound imo.

Date: 2006-11-07 01:32 pm (UTC)I really like Christian because it sounds so beautiful and classy and has a good meaning to you, but even if you are a Christian, it's kind of a bit overboard I think. Most people don't care, so it should be fine. I just think it's weird for someone's name to also be the name of a religion.
Btw... I have never heard of Hagen but I really don't like it.
