I met a family from France today and the children were named:
Charlotte
Clemence (Clay-mohnce... the "n is very soft)
Etienne  (Ay-tee-ehn)

They were lovely.  What are your favorite french names, and which ones do you hate?

I love the way Catherine is pronounced in francophone areas, same thing with Jeanne (Zhahnne). I love Adele, Agathe, Adrienne, Alexandre, Amelie, Anais, Collete, Blanche, Oceane, Noemi, Gabriel (francophone pronunciation), Lucien, Raphael, Renee, Sebastien, Sylvestre... and that's not even half of them!!

But a lot of names I like better in the french pronunciations so I can't use them... for example, Charlotte.
