Shaina

I've really liked the name Shaina lately. Not for any particular reason, but I swear, every story I've started lately has had a character named Shaina. It's growing on me.


Not sure if I'd ever use it since my sister's name is close (Shannan), but I thought I'd put it out there.


WDYT? What about other spellings? I think a Y in the middle (Shayna) makes it look a little brassier and I don't like that. But let me know what you think!

I like Shaina because my Fiance's grandmother's name was Shaindel. It does seem a bit old ladyish to me though because it makes me think of people's Bubbies.
I might think of using it as a middle name for a future daughter to honour my fiance's grandmother but his cousin's Hebrew name is already Shaindel (her english name is Suzanne) so it's been covered I guess.
