here (in holland) this name Charmayne seems to be very populair for girls
in my school there is a; Charmayne, Germaine, Chermaine, Shermain and a Sjarmayne all pronounced as; Cher-mà-ne
and i know a boy named Germain

i dont know if i like Charmayne as name
and i dont know what to think about all those ways of writing it.

They sound a bit different in American english, different than your way of saying them, and different from each other. In general, it's a pretty harsh sound to me - not very pretty. I tend to like softer sounds.

Also I went to high school with a girl named Germaine who was the snobbiest, over-privileged beeotch around - not a nice girl in the slightest.
