Hi there, I'm new to this comm - not a mum and not expecting to be for a while. I just like thinking of names!

Anyway, what do you think of these names for a girl?

Cambria sounds more like a place and even if you like the group/band Coheed & Cambria, it doesn't sound like a good name to me for a kid.

I don't like Waverly either. Not sure why, but I don't. My roommate wonders if you got the name from Princess Bride (which she adores, but she doesn't like the name either).

Yeah, it is a place but it's a name as well. I'd heard it and liked it (see comment below) before I heard of the band. Actually, the band thing puts me off even though I love them :-/

Yup - Waverly is from the Princess Bride :) I like it but it doesn't seem to shorten to anything well.

Really? Bah, the place thing is another negative for me. Not a fan of people naming their kids after states / countries / conmtinents much.

Cambria is a county in both Pennsylvania and Wales. I'm not a fan of it as a baby name, either.

Heh, and my roommate also said she thought Waverly was from a children's book or something like that. And she doesn't like it either.
