Sep. 26th, 2006 10:50 pmI just found out Friday that I'm having a baby girl...which makes me extremely excited. It's a lot more fun for me to pick girl names than boy names. I have a looooooong list of girl names and it was pretty much definitely going to be Adrian for a boy. And that's no fun, right? I mean, of course I adore the name Adrian, (1. because it's a part of my husband's name and 2. because I just like the way it sounds) but it pretty much sucks all the fun out of everything when you're set on one name from the get-go.
So, my current list is this(almost in priority order):
First Names:
Eden
Anastasia/Anastacia
Lilliana (Lily)
Tegan
Niralee (Ner-ah-lee)
Tai-San
Lark
Edie
Evie
Evan
Ariel
Sabine
Christina
Ana Maria
Candice
Lorraine
Jaclyn
Marilyn
Satine
Asia
Gabrielle
Lavender
Middle:
Rei/Rae/Ray
Dei/Dae/Day
Mei/Mae/May
Love
Hope
Joy
Faith
Rain
Dior
Chanel
Coco/Cocoa
Valentina
Rose
Lark
Holiday
I know a lot of you aren't going to be fans of my names, particularly, my middle names, so, don't tear me apart, but do feel free to suggest. I'm in a very open stage right now and very willing to add to my list.
I like glam names. I like the names of fashion designers, models, and retro actresses, among other things that can be interpreted as sophisticated or fabulous. Modern and edgy, but recognizable as a name and not WAY out of control. I don't mind common names, but OVERLY common names (Brittany, Lynn, Marie, Leigh, etc.), are icky.
My last name is Holland-Snow, but the baby will only be taking the Snow part.
My name is Gazelle Faith and my husband's name is Adrian Kiran Pride Snow, if that means anything.

Date: 2006-09-26 01:14 pm (UTC)First Names:
Eden- love. Edie is an adorable nickname. I find most middle names work with this name.
Anastasia/Anastacia- Anastasia, love but the nn stacy is HORRIBLE. I wouldnt sell it with a C, try to avoid that! I think S's are prettier anyway
Lilliana (Lily)- lovely but very popular
Tegan- dont like
Niralee (Ner-ah-lee)- never seen it before, pretty sound but it just sounds like that, a sound. I guess all names are sounds but... you know what i mean!
Tai-San- dont like
Lark- pretty, but it's another animal!
Edie- pretty, prefer Eden as the full name
Evie- aww love this so much more tha Eve/Eva. I like Evelyn
Evan - too masculine
Ariel- love it, the LM connection makes me love it even more, though it's a put of for some.
Sabine- would love to love this name (moulin rouge) but i just dont like the ending. so no...
Christina- too popular, Chistiana/Christa/Christabel
Ana Maria-Love Ana, not a fan of Marie. It's a bit plain, our names are so exotic you need something a little more out there!
Candice- tacky sounding
Lorraine- hate, olf fashioned, makes me think of quiche lorraine which makes me think of mushrooms.. yuck.
Jaclyn- dont like at all
Marilyn- haha monroe, loev to love it again, but it just doesnt sit well with me. baby marilyn? no
Satine- again i dont like the ending. Satin may be better somehow
Asia- dont like, it's a pretty name but it's a continent first.
Gabrielle- love it, also love gabriella. Elle is gorgeous
Lavender- reminds me of harry potter & Lavender Brown is annoying.
Middle:
Rei/Rae/Ray- dont like, common
Dei/Dae/Day- Day.
Mei/Mae/May- common but it fits well with most names
Love- hmm maybe
Hope- LOVE
Joy- i want to like this bcause the meaning is pretty, but i dont for some reason
Faith- again, i dont like it. too religious
Rain- i like this on a boy.
Dior- tacky
Chanel- tacky
Coco/Cocoa- i love Coco!
Valentina- love
Rose- bit of a filler but pretty nonetheless
Lark- love this as a middle
Holiday- hmm weird. its not overy weird though
what do you think of the name Lavinia?
Ava Lavinia Gardner... before Ava became so popular this combo was top for me, even though i was stealing her name! Not many people know her middle name i suppose so it wouldnt have been a bi deal

Date: 2006-09-26 08:42 pm (UTC)*shrug* I've always loved my name and felt I was lucky, because my siblings were named pretty generically (Jennifer Li, Aidan, Justin, Wren, Blake, Lark(who is my twin sister), and Tai) as were Pride's (Jay, Spencer, KC, Stephen, Scott, and Jaclyn).

I think that Gabrielle is a bit to similar to your name.
You could use Edie as a nickname for Eden. Edie on its own seems unfinished.
I like Faith, Rain, Rose and Lark as middle names. But I don't think I'd put any or them with Eden.
Eden Faith - very religious sounding and could almost be a statement about creationism (ie. "evolution didn't happen, I have faith in the garden of eden")
Eden Rain - probably the best but does sound quite sentance-y
Eden Rose - very garden-y
Eden Lark - sounding like a sentance still
I think it would be nice to share your middle name with your daughter.
Ariel Faith
Evie Faith
Niralee Faith
But others I like
Eden Mae
Eden Coco
