Sep. 22nd, 2006 08:45 pmHello, everyone!
I just want to start off by saying how much I freaking love this community.
Alright, after lots of thinking, I think I finally decided on two names that I might use for my future kids. I'm Puerto Rican, so in the back of my mind there's always been that thought of, "I hope my family can pronounce it." It's a challenge.
So I tried to pick names that sound both good in English and in Spanish.
For a boy: Jayden Abdiel. (Abdiel is from the Bible, and my parents, who thought my sister was actually a boy, were going to name my sister that. I've always liked it.)
For a girl: Adiana (Ah-dee-on-ah) Sarai (Sir-eye). (Sarai is actually my name, and although first days of school were absolute hell, I love my name. In Spanish it's suh-rah-eeee. Yeah, I tried.)
What do you think?

Date: 2006-09-23 09:23 am (UTC)I don't like Adiana either, but I do like Sarai. For the longest time, I thought that's how Tom and Katie pronounced Suri. When I figured out that they pronounced Suri "Sir-ee", I was disappointed. Sir-eye is a much better pronunciation.
