We were continuing to search through baby girl names and I came across the name Malia.

"How do you like this name" - myself
"Isn't that a disease?" - Kevin
"Malaria?" - myself
"Same thing..." - Kevin
"No, Malia is a name. Malaria is a disease that kills about 1-3 million people annually" - myself

Oh boy. Thank God we are only one third of the way through the pregnancy. I wasn't in love with that name anyway. I just dont think I have ever heard it before.

how are you pronouncing it? the one Malia i've ever met pronounced it mah-LEE-ah (as opposed to MAH-lee-ah, which sounds like malaria
