How do you pronounce the name Anais? I've never known anyone named that, and I've encountered various forms of pronunciation in books/websites, so I'm a bit confused.
You didn't think I was saying I was emphasizing the second syllable, did you? I'm definitely emphasizing the third, just as you are.
Do you actually pause between the second and third syllable, or does the second sort of glide into the third? Mine glides, and that is what I am trying to get at - that when you say "ah" and "ee" consecutively and quickly, it sounds like "eye".
hmm... well, ok I just said it about 20 times in a row out-loud to see what would happen. Sort of... lol, I sound like an idiot here talking to myself. "ah-ee, ah-ee, ah-ee." I sound like a donkey.
Heh heh. I guess you can think of it as being similar to the AI in Hawaiian or lanai - everyone says huh-WYE-un and luh-NYE instead of pronouncing the A and I separately.
