Hello!
Hey, I'm new to this community - just thought I might find out what you think about some names I have picked. (I've pretty much decided on the girl's name, but unsure what to name the baby if it is a boy!)
They may be a little different to the norm, I'm from Australia so I guess names here differ in popularity a fair bit to other countries.
Girls:
Layla
Taylah
Marie
Keira
Grace
Gypsy
Boys:
Zavier
Xander
Jackson
Bailey
Brandon
Johnathon

Layla - Reminds me of the song :) Nice enough.
Taylah - Eh, it's okay, but doesn't do much for me.
Marie - It's all right, but mainly seen as a middle name.
Keira - There's probably going to be a ton of them with Knightly being so successful, but okay.
Grace - Nice enough.
Gypsy - A bit out there, but okay.
Boys:
Zavier - I prefer Xavier, but nice name!
Xander - Reminds me of Buffy, but nice enough.
Jackson - ahhh, just think of Michael Jackson-connection *screams* unless it's after Jackson Pollack :)
Bailey - nowadays a girl's name
Brandon - eh, becoming a bit on the preppy side
Johnathon - prefer without the h, but nice.

IMO, Bailey has become more of a girl name (I only know/hear of little girls w/the name). And either John or Jonathan. Not both.

Perhaps I can urge him to change the spelling ;)

LOVE: Layla, Keira, Grace
BUT... would spell them Leila and Kyra
HATE: Taylah. Sounds like "Taylor" with a Brooklyn accent (to me). I realize it probably sounds quite different in Australia
BOYS
LOVE: Zavier, Xander, Jackson
HATE: Bailey -- I think of Bailey as a girls' name. Never been a fan of Brandon. Don't like that spelling of Jonathan... it's too much. Jonathan itself isn't terrible though.

Pretty much the only reason I dont want Layla spelt 'Leila' is because it's similar to my name with the 'ei' bit (Keira) and I would always have it spelt incorrctly.

Layla - pretty
Taylah - for some reason makes me think of a wanna be "gangsta" who's trying to be cool & pronouncing the name Taylor like "Tayla the Playa"
Marie - pretty
Keira - pretty
Grace - not my style
Gypsy - errr...I can forsee teasing
Boys:
Zavier - cool
Xander - kinda sci fi sounding
Jackson - last name as first name's not my style
Bailey - am I the only one who think of Baileys Irish Cream liquor?
Brandon - nice
Johnathon - nice

Maybe I just drink too much? Haha.

I love Keira, Grace, and Layla (spelled Leila). Marie is all right. I'd prefer Taylor to Taylah - Taylah sounds like "Taylor" with a weird accent. The only one I really don't like is Gypsy, which is still used as a derogatory term in much of the world.
Boys:
Love Xavier (spelled this way) and Jonathan (spelled this way). Prefer Alexander nn Xander, and prefer Brendan to Brandon, since that seems less common. I like Bailey better on a boy than a girl, but I still think too much about Irish Creme... Jackson is okay, but getting really popular.

I'm not really into your boys names, apart from Jonathan. Bailey ... as well as being a drink, is conceived more a girls name I think.
Good luck! :)

Taylah - Don't like.
Marie - Boring
Keira - Ok, a bit to Keira Knightly for me.
Grace - so sick of it
Gypsy - too flightly and insubstantial. nice for a pet, but not a human
Boys:
Zavier - nice
Xander - don't like
Jackson - too common here, too surnamey for my taste
Bailey - childish and insubstantial
Brandon - ok
Johnathon - fine

Taylah - sorry, but this name just has to go
Marie - if it's not super-popular in Oz, go for it! I like Maria a bit better though
Keira - Kira is on my short list, I like really short girl's names
Grace - nice but nms
Gypsy - too much
Boys:
Zavier - I like Xavier better but very very cool name
Xander - i really like it!
Jackson - my new favorite boy's name!!!! it NEVER makes me think of michael jackson either
Bailey - a girl's name at this point imo
Brandon - decent
Johnathon - maybe try to convince the father that he will be honored with a J middle name that you both like?

I used to work in a childcare centre for six years. It's so hard not to associate names with children's behaviours, and I've had so many different names its also difficult to choose names that I haven't heard so often before!
I've chosen Layla (but possibly Laila) Marie for a girls name. Layla isn't so popular here, and Marie is the name of my grandmother who passed away several years ago.
I love Xavier, but everyone tends to pronounce it "X-avier", hence deciding on Zavier instead. Still not sure about it though, as I love Xander too, and Jackson.
Considering Jackson instead of Johnathon as the middle name.
I find out in a week what the sex is so I guess I'll make my mind up then ;)
Thanks all for your input :)

Layla - One of my favorite all-time names, but, like everyone else, I'd spell it Leila.
Taylah - Too close to sounding like Taylor.
Marie - Little too common for my tastes.
Keira - Very pretty, although some people who can't read might botch it up.
Grace - Another one of my favorite names, prefer it to be a mn though.
Gypsy - Hate it.
Boys:
Zavier - Prefer to spell it Xavier, but I like it.
Xander - This is my dog's name, but my brother picked it because it's one of his favorite "human" names.
Jackson - Don't like it.
Bailey - I like it on girls, but not boys.
Brandon - Ok but a bit too common.
Johnathon - Same as what I think about Brandon.

Layla - I think it's ok (I like Leila)
Taylah - NO, so trendy (at least spell it Taylor)
Marie - boring
Keira - no
Grace - classic and pretty
Gypsy - eh.
Boys:
Zavier - I like it if spelt Xavier
Xander - it's ok
Jackson - I prefer Jack, but it's nice
Bailey - ewww. I hate Bailey/Kailey/Hailey etc. names
Brandon - ok
Johnathon - eh, a little boring!
Overall I like Grace (not used much for a first name and it's lovely), Xavier and Jack(son)!
