After considering the pros and cons of the name Arabella, we have decided against it. It wouldn't be a cute name for an adult woman and I hate "Bella" or "Belle" which the child would more than likely be called.

How do you feel about the name Felicity?

Also, I find it amusing (I am not offended) by how everyone reacted to my name "Rohen" and how presise I was on the pronouncation and spelling. My original longing was to pronounce it "Rohan", but everyone kept on saying "Ro-hAn" when saying it. Or I got "row-win" like the spelling Rowan. I want more of a "Ro-in". Everyone told me to spell it "Rohen" and pronounce it to sound like hen. When I say it aloud, it sounds perfect... when I try to explain it... it's a mess.

Ok I understand your Rohen thing better now. Actually, I like the name Rowan, and it is the only boys' name with a "W" sound in it that I actually like! But I agree that it sounds much nicer with the "w" less emphasised. I don't think it's possible to enforce that though, because with different accents and ways of speaking, some people will pronounce it really disgustingly, no matter what the name is. Like my name (Claire), people with a strong australian accent pronounce it like two syllables -- like claya -- which I find gross, but oh well, they can't help it. So if I were you, I'd just call him Rowan, and pronounce it myself like Ro-in (which does end up having a tiny w in there anyway if you say it fast) and just not worry too much about how other people say it. The difference between Row-in and Ro-in is quite negligible in my opinion. But if it really bothers you then I'd suggest using another name because I think it's something that will be too hard to change.
