Before I moved to Hell...ehhh, I mean Georgia....I lived in a small college town (2 colleges...MTU and FU. I attended FU)....

At any rate...some of these college kids come up with....well, unusual names! I've entered a few of the more interesting ones

Kian Allen
Kallyn Mae
Malak Kelly
Ned Stephen
Tanner Mark
Alethea Mae
Lane Peter
Kailin Marie
Dustin Xander
Alena Lydia
Malaki Wilhart
Kailob Michael
Connor Gibbons (nope, not a last name)
Giselle Catherine
Velicity Mae (twin to Phoenix)
Phoenix Marie* (twin to Velicity)
Talan Lee
Levin Michael
Maddox Michael James
Andrew Yongjia
Meren Lois
Reese Lillian*
Jace Colter
Cullen Mark
Preston Douglas (twin to Ashton)
Ashton Douglas James (twin to Preston)
Peyton Jade
Donnis Nevaeh
Annali Judith
Tahtiana Maria
Naudia Louise

* I'd always considered these first names boys names. So, it struck me as unusual to see them as girls names

Are these the children of people in college? If so, damn! That's a lot! I was the ONLY pregnant chick I ever saw on campus when I was in school, lol.

She said the college kids *came up* with the names, so that's what confused me.

Velicity? Velicity? WHAT IS THAT??!?!?

And the same middle name thing for Ashton and Preston...how ridiculous!!!!

I really like Annali, and know of one.

Good list!

I knew three brothers growing up that all three had the same middle name... the story is...
Oldest brother had mothers maiden name as middle name
Mother gets pregnant picks out new first and middle names for son two.
Mother goes into labor and surprise it's twin boys not just one.
So mother splits up the first and middle names she had picked for the one baby she was expecting and doles them out as two first names and gives both twins her maiden name as their middle names.
So now she has three sons that all have the same middle name.
The sadder part is that the eldest son and 1st born twin (who got the original first name as opposed to the 2nd twin who got the middle name as a first name) have names that rhyme. So the two oldest have names that makes you think their twins when in fact it's the middle and youngest that are twins.

Hope that made sense... I just woke up.

ok, thats horrible. I can't imagine having several kids with the exact same name, like sounding or rhyming names drive me crazy as it is but having the EXACT same *twitch* it's just so Red neck. Reminds me of that show... who's name I can't think of... with the three brothers named Darrell and the one brother would always say "I'm Darrell, this is my brother Darrell, and this is my other brother Darrell." Oh gosh what show was that?
These guys are:
Aaron (eldest)
Darren (1st born twin)
and
Justin (2nd twin)
all middle name Hasting.

I think it was the Bob Newhart Show? and that was always funny to me no matter how many times they did it. :)

I actually really like Alethea, Meren, and Giselle Catherine. The rest are somewhere between "blah" and "toilet." Velicity? Kallyn? Talan? Gibbons made me laugh, but it's probably a maiden name...

What's scariest is I'm not sure on half of these whether they're boys or girls.

I'm just stuck on the fact that your college was called FU.

LOL FU. My ex-boyfriend bought a Fordham University hat once, (obviously w/the abbreviation on it) so he could have a hat that said FU just to be funny of course. some guy had a whole big conversation with him about Fordham and if he went there etc. my poor ex was like "Uh...wtf? it was a joke?" but the guy would not let up. :)

and yeah, some of these names are bad, aside from the obvious mispellings.

I see a lot of trendy blah, but not too much outright awful. And I actually really like Lillian as a girl's name. I think it has sort of made the transition now. Like Ashley and Evelyn, I only ever hear it used for girls now.

The ones that particularly stand out as bad for me are Nevaeh, Tahtiana, Naudia, Kailob and Velicity (wtf?) I kind of like Alethea and some of the middle names are nice. I like Lydia, Michael, James, Maria, Stephen and Peter.

Ah, heh, ok, I just kind of glossed right over that. This is what happens when I comment right after waking up. ;)

I've heard Nevaeh a couple times before and about the rock star connection. It's definitely among my least favorite of the newer trends.

I'm just confused by Velicity, because I really, really like Felicity. Why the V?

Wow... I thought I was the only crazy person ever that liked the name Levin.

Hrm some of those are really bad. Donnis? Like Adonis?
