Thoughts on the spelling of Emmalee?

I know it's kinda really jumping over into the realm of kre8tiv which is really somethig i dislike fundamentally but what if the point of it is to use the spelling of "lee" like that to honor a family member? More acceptable under those circumstances? Why do I feel like it sounds almost "country" when spelled Emmalee instead of Emily?

You know, until you mentioned it, I didn't connect Emmalee with Emily at all. I guess I put the accent on the "Lee" in the former and the "Em" in the latter? I actually kind of like the way it looks, which makes me less likely to say it's a kre8tiv spelling, even though I guess technically it is...
