Heard the name Carter last night when the fiancé and I went to Best Buy. For the first time, actually! I turned around and realized the parents were talking about their daughter, named Carter. Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed. I've only heard Carter on a girl from the movie, Princess Protection Program (can't believe I just said that).

WDYT?

Dislike for girls. It isn't feminine to me at all. I like it for boys though.

I do not like it for a girl. I think it is a cute boy's name.

Outside of Princess Protection Program (which is really cute, in its Disney Channel way), Carter doesn't work on a girl.

i immediately thought of that movie too! i've never heard it on a girl and i don't like it much. i do however love it on boys after watching Dr. Carter on ER in the late 90s, heh.

I really dislike Carter on a girl. I think it's fine for a boy but I know like 3 infant Carter's, so I suspect it has the potential to get very popular.

I quite like it on a girl :) I have a racehorse with the name 'Doyly Carte' and I call her Carter for short.

I really dislike Carter for boys, and even more so for girls.

I don't like the name Carter at all. It reminds me of the clothing brand, and I just don't like occupation names. It basically means 'transporter of materials', and I don't really understand the appeal of naming a child that.

I always associate the name with Aaron Carter.
