We're planning on naming our first son Calvin. He wants to use the nickname "Cal" and I'd prefer "Vinnie" as "Cal" just reminds me of a dry heave.

So...if you were naming your son Calvin, which nickname would you use?

i also agree on just calvin. vinnie always makes me think of a sleezy guy in a greasy wife beater sporting a thick gold chain and dark back hair. and cal... eh, it just seems kind of weak. *shrug* just my 2 cents! i think calvin is a great name, though.

me too. i love nicknames, but this one i wouldn't use one...

why can't one parent call him cal and the other call him vinnie?
