..and it's somewhat of a debate between fiance and I...

We're planning on naming our first son Calvin. He wants to use the nickname "Cal" and I'd prefer "Vinnie" as "Cal" just reminds me of a dry heave.

So...if you were naming your son Calvin, which nickname would you use?

Eh... Calvin makes me think of Calvin and Hobbes.

For a nickname though? I like Cal better than Vinnie.

That's exactly where Stacey (my fiance) got the name. From the comic strip. It was a hard sell for me for a long time, but one day it just clicked and I love it.
