Girl who served me yesterday. I never used to like Hazel but it was by association with someone I didn't really like. It grew on me though after I worked with a girl called Hazel who is awesome. This girl was maybe late teens so I don't know if creative spellings are even as new as I thought they were.
I recently started back to college and there is a girl in my class called Linzi. I now know two young women who spell their name that way. I really like Lindsay but for some reason that spelling with the Z isn't super offensive to my eyes.
WDYT? :)

Date: 2012-08-26 06:31 pm (UTC)I also think the comment saying that a lot of the spellings might be self-inflicted probably also has a point. when my mom was in 8th grade she was one of 8 Peggys in her class, so she decided to be ~~different~~ and spell it Peggie. she still uses that spelling to this day, but as it's a nickname and not a given name I think it's not as bad, since her birth certificate doesn't say Peggy it says Margaret.
in high school my one cousin tried going as Jessika for a year or two. it was spelled like that on anything that wasn't a legal document. she starred in her school's musical one of those years so the playbill (or whatever it's called) had like a gazillion ads taken out by people supporting her and it's all JESSIKA this and JESSIKA that.. and then she grew up and went back to her legal spelling.
