Amaury.

I saw this name in the opening credits for Prison Break (my newest Netflix addiction!!). I had never heard it before and thought it was a girl's name and liked it a lot. I pronounced it "AW-marie" in my mind, even though the spelling didn't really fit that pronunciation. But I looked it up and found out it is a male name.

Has anyone heard it before? What would you think of it as a girl name? And what is the correct pronunciation?

Side note: speaking of Prison Break, I've taken a liking to the name Lincoln, Linc for short. Thoughts?

Haha that's pretty funny. I can see that though, I suppose in French, Spanish, and Portuguese, it sounds good for a guy. In English, I think it sounds good on a girl.

I couldn't do it, but I grew up hearing this name for boys, so for me it's strange. Also, it's a bit of an old-fashioned name - I don't recall meeting an Amaury who's younger than 40.
