My aunt just had her sixth child today, a daughter named Mary Katherine.  She'll either be Mary or Mary Kate for short I personally prefer Mary Kate.  WDYT?

Older siblings are John Kenneth (Jack), Emma Cathlin, Luke Edward, Andrew James, and Daniel (Danny--I can't remember his middle name for some reason).

Katherine is so close to Cathlin, though!

I will always think of Molly Shannon as Mary Katherine Gallagher on SNL when I hear that combo lol It is pretty though :)

Despite the Olsen twins, I actually like Mary Kate.

I love Mary Katherine. I have two friends named this, one who goes by Mary Katherine and one who goes by Mary. I like all of the options. And your aunt has great taste in names. I don't love Emma Cathlin, but otherwise I'm a huge fan of all of these.

Cathlin is the only one that sticks out to me. Emma Cathleen would be nicer, but they're all lovely, solid names.

I think Mary Katherine actually sounds really pretty. I think I'd go with Mary Kate for a nick name though :)

I'm trying to figure out how her oldest acquired the nickname of Jack from the name John Kenneth, maybe it's just me but I'm not drawing the connection here lol. I do like all the rest though, they all seem to fit well together.

Really? I never knew that, I wonder how it started? Mainly because I'm just not seeing it lol.

They're all pretty boring. I like Mary, but Katherine is so beige to pair it with. I just like the name Mary-Kate, actually.

I approve of all of these names! Mary Kate is a cute nickname, plus she has the option of going by just Mary when she's older.

I've seen Cathlin before, but the person spelled it Kathlyn and went by Kathy.

Probably not a big deal for kids of her generation, but people of mine will always hear Mary Kate and think of the Olsen twins. It's cute!

My friend's name is Mary Katherine and she goes by Kat or Mary-Kat. I think Kat is really cute, personally.
