First time post; beginning to make lists!
Dec. 11th, 2011 08:29 pmHi there, I joined when this comm was in the spotlight but I've not posted until now.
My partner and I are already sort of discussing baby names, as we wish to start trying for a baby shortly after our marriage. We both like classic sounding names, such as Atticus.
I suggested to him that I've always liked the name Erik, mostly because of the Viking history tied to it.
He thinks it looks like a "cutesy way of spelling Eric," and I disagree; it would originally have been spelled with a Kenaz rune (and I think the letter C is redundant anyways).
We haven't even added it to an official list yet, but I'd love to hear your opinions on it. I'm probably in a minority for hating the letter C so much, hehe.
Cheers!

While I dislike that spelling, I do like this reasoning.
