hello, all! a few things for this post:

-i'm writing a story in which one of my main characters goes by a different name daily. any suggestions? i'm avoiding names starting with the letter m. (and for funsies, if you were to change your name for short periods of time, what would you choose?) *

-what female names would have "ted" as a nickname (other than theodora)?

-how would you pronounce the name "helena"?

thanks!

*eta: the character is female; her real name is mary and her tongue-in-cheek default name is moneypenny, which is why i'm skipping m's. her name is randomly selected from a pre-determined list every morning and sent to her.

I really should know how to pronounce "Helena" b/c I went to school with someone with the name. But I couldn't tell you if I'm pronouncing it like she did because it was so long ago. I want to say I pronounce it "huh-lane-uh." But, I could see "heh-lane-uh" and "hell-en-uh".

I wish I could come up with a name for Ted to be a nickname for, but I can't stop thinking about Laurie from Little Women when I try to think about the name, sorry!

Hehe thanks :). I was trying really hard to prevent myself from saying something strange like "Ted can be a nickname for Josephine", because really, what? LOL.

I figured it was in my best interest too :). I would venture that even if you read the book yesterday, you still wouldn't make the connection without prompting. (Haha! I can definitely understand that :).)
