Currently I'm Georgia Christine Anne.

I'd change it to Margaret Louisa if I had to. My favourite girl's name.

I've gotta say, you have such a pretty name!

I happen to love my first name and wouldn't want to change it, I don't particularly like my middle name, but I can't think of anything else I'd like better.
If I had to change it though, that's a loaded question because I'd need to think about it for a long time. I would probably even need to "give it a spin" and see how it works for me for a little bit, because what seems perfect this week might not seem so perfect next.

Also, I just realized you never told us what you changed your to (Leave out the last name of course, unless you want to tell us, but tell us the first name!)

My first name is Sara, after the Fleetwood Mac song; I would probably change my name to Charlotte if my mother wouldn't be so hurt by it. Although Sara is a pretty international name, and I've never been the Sara G. of my class, it feels boring. I would prefer something less common and a bit more old-fashioned. I can definitely see myself as a Charlotte - I'm a bit shy and reserved, prefer reading to doing almost anything else, am rather traditional and old-fashioned compared to most people in my age group.
My middle name is Rachel; I don't know why my mom chose it, both she and her mother had Lorraine as a middle name. I might change it to Lorraine, although Charlotte Lorraine doesn't flow very well but no one every really hears my middle name anyways. Maybe I would take my grandmother's name, Rita, as a middle name.
My last name is a variation of Goddard, a very rare and rather bizarre one. It is my mother's maiden name, so I would probably be very mean to change it. My biofather's last name is Harrison, which I quite like. My stepfather's last name is Coffin, which is at least easier to spell and more common than my current last name. I also quite like my grandmother's maiden name, Rutherford.

All that said, if I absolutely had to rename myself, I would be Charlotte Rita Harrison. I think.

Isabel Marie Campbell. I thought up that combination a few years ago, and I just really like it.

I have a love/hate relationship with my own first name. I hated it growing up but I've come to appreciate it over the past few years. If I had to change my name at all, I'd ditch my first name. My middle name is my grandmother's first name, so I'd keep that out of respect for her. My last name is a pretty common one, but it says a lot too about where I come from.

If I could choose my own name though, I'd have to think a lot about what I'd change it to. I've always liked the names Star and Diamond but I don't know if they'd work for me.

I'm actually Emma Jane *surname* and don't dislike it, although Emma is WAY too common for my liking and it's a bit annoying always being one of several Emmas my age in a group/workplace/church/whatever.
If I had to change it, it would be to Stephanie Isobelle *mother's maiden name*. My mum took my dad's name when she married, so there's no massive sentimental connection to the surname, but it's easy to say/spell and doesn't invite teasing or anything.
I actually wouldn't use Stephanie or Isobelle for any potential daughters, the whole combination is a name that I chose years ago as a "second" name because I (and a couple of friends) thought that it suited me. I'd go by Steph.

Funny, I'm a Stephanie who looooves the name Emma Jane. Not a big fan of my own name, but I do like being called Steph.

My name is Melissa Elena and I love it, but if I had to like... enter witness protection and I got to choose my new name, I would probably pick Lola. I think it is such a cute name, but I would never use it for a child because of the song by The Kinks, and also "Copacabana".

Was born Valerie Dawn (English/Scots surname beginning with 'F').

My parents named me in a hurry (I guess that's what happens when your kid arrives ten weeks early?) and I've never been a fan of my full name--it feels a bit dated and with my surname there are just too many vowels.

Out of respect for my father (my first name was a name he *insisted* I had to have as either fn or mn), I'd never legally change it, but if I *absolutely had* to, possibilities:

- Kendall Augusta (fn after my maternal grandfather, mn after an ancestor--a great-great-great-grandmother).

- Viola Madeline (fn was my great-grandmother's, mn is my great-aunt's middle name)

- Ruby Avona (fn is a name I *love*, also belonging to an aunt, and mn was my great-grandmother's mn, possibly created).

My name is Sarah Virginia and I'm pretty alright with it. I actually quite like Sarah, and would consider it for daughter if it wasn't my name. I've never liked my middle name until recently.. it's growing on me. Virginia is my great grandmother's first name and her mother before her was Sarahfina (Italian).

Anyway, the only part i don't like about my current name is that I went from a pretty interesting and unique Italian last name to a really boring one, that makes me feel like a prairie girl (ie Sarah Plain & Tall).

I'm stumped though..I really can't think of a name that would fit me other than what I have!

I am Alyssa Jeane right now. I would change my name to Ada Josephine.

For me, I know if I were to rename myself my last name would become Swift, because I've always loved that last name. I'm not sure about the first name...I know that I really dislike my birth name but even so, I don't know what I'd change it to. Names I've used are Skudge and Selly, but neither are formal or versatile enough to be used in a lot of situations, and I don't know what they'd be short for either. Other than those, sometimes I feel certain names suit me, but not for a long enough period of time to consider actually changing my name to those. But anyway at different times in my life I've felt like a Rachel, Mary, Cynthia, and Celia. None are names I particularly like—just names I feel fit my personality.

Totally. And I did it. All three names. My initials actually spell the short form of my middle name (the only part I liked) SAM. I'd wanted to change my name always since I had not just hated my name, but the family association too. History of abuse, etc. It was also perfect cuz I was always planning to write under a pen name, so it was the plausible excuse, without having to get into the politics of said decision. First name I loved and had used as a net pseudynom for years. Very Irish. I now always get asked whether I'm irish, ROTFL. A little, but my old name was British and Latin. Middle name was very meaningful to me, based on my abuse recovery. A Japanese word/name. I love it. I get a ton of weird looks though. Like WTF were your parents smoking, I always get inquiries about my parents choosing my names. I just smile since I don't tell anyone I had a legal name change if I don't have to, so I say Yes. Even though I did it. LOL!! And the last name is the same initial as my old last name, which I also disliked for the association. But sounds stronger. The meaning was also really important to me. My name as a whole actually tells a story through meaning alone. I admit it was really weird for about a year, maybe two, because I didn't react to my name like most people do (like a dog to a clicker). It took some time to come to my name, or hear it if someone called out to me. BUT now it feels like me. 6 years later. I would never change it again, and I still go by my old name with anyone who once knew me as such. Though my spouse uses both depending on the context, professional or home. : )

yeah, that's actually the real reason I got mine changed, too, but it always feels awkward to bring it up. I had to change it a second time to try to get away from them stalking me, even though I liked the name--maybe one day I'll change it back?! ahhaaha

Hazel. I never thought about it beyond that, but I'd probably give myself a german last name.

I detest my full name for a whole slew of reasons. We won't even get into them.
I'd change my name to Jane Vivienne White. (White is a family name. I'd choose it to be reasonable. If I were not wanting to be so reasonable, I'd go with Jane Vivienne Avannen/Avannan.)

I should add that because I hate my full name, I usually go by a short form- Indy. I am probably going to legally change my surname to White in the future.

my birth name is Erin, but I've been going by Elara for over a year and a half now and want to get it changed whenever i can. It's pronounced as Elle-are-uh, but most people hear Ah-lar-uh and spell it as Alara... which is annoying to no end.

i love it simply because it's not an entirely made up name, like when people add "-isha" or "-iqua" to a name to make it ~unique or spell names with a different spelling, like how kids are being named Asch'lye and having it pronounced as Ashley. only around three people are name Elara, I believe. Elara is a moon of Jupiter and in Greek mythology.

also, how much did it cost to change your name and how long did it take? what did you have to do?
i'm tired of having to go by Erin in class-- last time I insisted upon Elara, one of my professors got mad because he'd have to remember it. ugh.

oh. plus, since my name is all individual, i get amazing URLs most of the time. my tumblr for example is just elara.tumblr.com-- short and sweet. most people have to use their name and their middle name in urls which is not great at all, imho

I like my name but I quite often don't think it suits me. I don't like my middle name, Mary. I tend to think its slightly religious but mostly after my great-grandmother so I'd feel bad changing that. I'd probably need to find something that went with Mary.

That being said a few of the names I'd like to be called have 'y' or 'ie' as a nickname. Then again I never use my middle name unless I'm filling out something official so that would probably be okay. If I really had to pick I think I'd be Lillian or maybe Elizabeth. I'd love a nickname-able names because I've only ever had a really cruel nickname in primary school :p

I'd choose Sylvie because the sound of it makes me smile.

The only thing that would make me change my name would be a witness protection program or something like that.
I'd change it to:
Ella Ruby (first name)
Nessa (middle name)
Olonar (last name)

Oh but if I stayed in my current country (Italy), I'd change it to Agata Eva Lunardi.
(Eva is pronounced EH-vah). That might actually be my pen name if I ever publish something.

My name is Lauren Marie. I first started thinking about my name in about the 4th grade and realized I didn't feel like it suited me. I considered going by first and middle for awhile, but it still didn't feel right. I've thought about what name I would go by, if I ever changed it, a lot, but I've never settled on anything.

For awhile, I thought about Eliza Claire Trenkamp. Eliza is both classic and quirky so it suits me in that sense. Claire just sounds good with it. Trenkamp is a family name. Now, I'm starting to feel that I am more of an Elizabeth who goes by Eliza, but I don't know what middle/last combination I would do. Maybe Elizabeth Jane *real last name*?

I like the name Tallulah with the nickname Lou, but I don't feel like a Tallulah. I feel more like a Louisa nn Lou, even though Louisa isn't a favorite or anything. Maybe Louisa Josephine? Ooh, or I've considered Maeve before. I could definitely be a Maeve.

My name is currently Aimee Michelle. I like Aimee well enough, but Michelle is boring to me.

I like the name Charlotte Rose (nickname probably Charlie/Charley, as when I was a child I was a tomboy, and I imagine that would have been my choice of nickname.)

If I were to change my last name (Not that I ever would, my married last name is strange, but it starts with a Q & I like that; it just makes it hard to name babies, because the its a Qu- name, so most C or Ch- names sound really bad), I would change it to Connelly or Findlay (mom's maiden name).

I also like the name Ashton; I used to use that as my "online persona" back in the day.

I would never change my name unless I had to go into witness protection or had no other choice. I am Monica Eloisa and I follow a family tradition that only pertains to first born females on my mother's side and that is very important to me. I am not really a femminist per se but I love it that it's the first born daughters that inherit the names in my family.

Anyway here are some possibilities for me:

Luna Isabelle Guerra (means Moon, which is my nickname now, Isabelle sounds sooo grogeous to me and Guerra means war.)

Mogana Esther Guerra (Love this one and would have my same initials)

I might adjust my name if I ever lived in the US because it seems that Americans are completely unable to recognise the name Kirsty and always call me Kristy, even in emails where they can see my name right in front of them!

I went to school with a Kirsten and she absolutely hated being called Kristen.
