I was unfortunate enough to hate my birth name and got it changed twice, which was a pretty difficult process, but since then I've been interested in what other people might consider for themselves!

I'm not sure if this is a little out-of-topic, but I'm extremely curious to know: what would you rename yourself, if you absolutely had to, and why? both first and last names would be preferable--thinking up a new surname was pretty much the hardest part for me, haha

Sorry to let you down.

I had friends who liked to call me Lindy. I can't stand the name Lindy (bad association). However, I worked at an indie coffee shop and I like indie music and my friends began to makes jokes about me being an "indie snob." I decided to make the best of it. I told them to drop the L from Lindy and they could call me Indy.

Besides, I have a character named Indigo and it makes me think of him.

Aww, that's cute! It sounds like some of my friends who have younger siblings or nieces/nephews who couldn't pronounce their name so they ended up using the kid's mispronunciations as nicknames, and it actually sounds cool. Yours is cute!

I'm not disappointed with Lindsey, actually. I think it's a cute name, and while I know a bunch of Lindseys, they're all good associations, so that probably adds to it.

The only other Lindsey I've ever known personally knocked me out in eighth grade because she hated me. I still don't know why she hated me except that she was the only Lindsey before I came to the school. She was a popular sporty chick and I was a nerdy bookworm; we didn't run in any of the same circles. Still not sure why she thought that warranted randomly knocking my lights out in gym class one day.
