I'm not anywhere near having kids, but I love finding new names and thinking of first + middle combos... What do you guys think of these?

Boys:

James Etienne
Maden Darnel
Jack Wilder
Auden Pierre

Girls:

Prynne Alexandria
Charlotte Salome
Olivia Chantel
Tash Corinne

I like James, Jack, and Charlotte. Some of these are...strange and sound made up, or like you're using surnames as first names (Maden, Auden, Prynne, Tash). No more -ayden names though! Please!

My cousin's name is Natasha but we call her Tash. It might have it's own meaning or be a form of Natasha which is a form of Natalie which means "born on Christmas day".

AMEN! NO MORE AYDEN! (or Adin)
I am so sick of that one.
I've heard of Maden before.

Yeah, that one is almost there for me but not quite. It's riding the fence between okay and eck.

Etienne seems like a girl's name... I like Auden, Salome, and Wilder. Darnel is my least favorite.

It's the French equivalent of Stephen. But yeah, the -enne makes it seem feminine to me too.

This- it's my boy twin's middle name in honour of his grampa Stephen. But it does look a little feminine.

I LOVE Maden and Prynne. Also adore Wilder as a middle name. :)

I don't like Maden, Darnel or Chantel. I love Prynne, but not the spelling. Tash seems like a nn.

Tait looks like taint. Tate may serve your purposes better.

I love Tate too. I have no idea what other way you would spell Prynne though. I also love Blynne which looks similar but is a completely different name!

I always assumed that it was pronounced as "Blin" but you could pronounce it the other way too! Guess it depends on what you prefer.

I want a boy named Elijah so I can call him Lige and the pronounciation made both my parents think of the word (since I'm not sure I could spell it right) for a pus wound. Tash may sound like Trash a bit but it made me think of the words "tough" and "speed" (thank you Incredibles I guess). I didn't think of trash until this comment.

And don't forget the parents. The kids can learn what some names mean by the parents.

First one: Can you help me pronounce the middle name?
Second: Bit...I don't know how to explain. Best I can come up with is that it sounds like a brand more than a person.
Third: Awesome
Fourth: Not sure about Auden but I like an A name wiht Pierre following.

First: What is the first name? It seems a bit abrupt to have something follow it from what I can guess at.
Second: Salome sounds like a greeting but I could see the combo.
Third: Yes to first, no to last. Chantel makes me think of a purse.
Fourth: Tash sounds more like a boy to me but I could see it in a tomboy or punkish girl.

In the end, it's up to you...and your (future?) partner. Godspeed.

Ah then
1. Alright. A kid could live with that name.
2. Maybe.

1. Then I like it the other way around
3. Yeah a first name of Chanel would be a bit odd.
4.See? Then it would work. So long as she doesn't become an outright lady, she will be able to pull it off.

Oh, I love James Etienne! I also like Pierre.

As for the girl names, I like Alexandria, Charlotte, Olivia and Corinne. I'm not a fan of any of those combinations though :(

It does flow well :)

James is one of my favourite names, and I recently discovered the name Etienne in the book Anna and the French Kiss - have you read it as well?

I think I prefer longer names for girls because my own is fairly short and boring, and you can't really make any nicknames for it. (My name is Sarah BTW)

Oh, I'd definitely recommend you read Anna and the French Kiss! It's a young adult novel by Stephanie Perkins :)

Boys:

James Etienne

I like this one. I agree as previously stated that the middle name is a bit feminine. You may want to see how you like it with just taking the end NE off. It still will have a french sound but a more masculine appearance.

Maden Darnel

I like Maden but don't particularly like Darnel. As previously stated. I think Maden would sound good with a name like your listed Pierre. Sticking with the french theme you like you may like Christophe, Patrice, Laurent, or Benoit instead.

Jack Wilder

I like this but in combination with the other names both names seem a bit tame. Ironic with the name Wilder, I know. Perhaps spicing up the name Jack with something else. Perhaps the french Jean with is (I believe) close to the french h version of Jack/John.

Auden Pierre

I like this. Nothing to say really.

Girls:

Prynne Alexandria

I like this. But I don't think you need to add the 'ia' sound. Just 'a' would still sound fine. Also for Prynne spellings could be: Pryne, Prynn. I can't see a way of replacing the i without it looking weird though.

Charlotte Salome

I like this.

Olivia Chantel

I like this too.

Tash Corinne

Tash is simple in light of the other names. Lets say you had 3 girls and had a fourth on the way. Tash would seem very airy in comparison. Like someone said before it is related to Natasha/Natalie/Noel which has many forms. I think names like Tashina, Natalya (Talya), Nawal (pronounced Noel. Might serve your purposes with this name without making the name resemble the word "Trash" as you've previously stated.

I love Auden! I have Auden Pierce (eerily similar to Auden Pierre) on my list. I like James Etienne as well. I think Etienne is one of the more handsome French names that just isn't as widely used.

For the girls I think Charlotte Salome is absolutely gorgeous! I like Prynne Alexandria as well, it's unusual but still feminine and pretty. And I'm assuming that it's a literary reference to "The Scarlet Letter" which also makes me like it more!

Yeah, Auden is a family name for us! And I love a good literary reference :) I love to see another bookish namer.

Love Auden though I've always thought of it more for a girl.
