I completely agree. And that's what I always think of when I hear about kids named that.
They're both characters in books you read in high school, so unless you're popping out a kid between gym and chemistry, save the names for your "like but would never use" bank, because it makes me think that you haven't read a book since then.

I mean, why don't I just name my kids Hamelt and Gatsby and get it over with?

I'm definitely going to name a kid Ham-Melt. And maybe Gravy, instead of Gatsby. That way people will know I spent time in my high school cafeteria, too! :D

Seriously, though. Holden, Atticus, Scout, Gatsby... I wish other high school lit characters got named after, since these are so popular. Why not Hamlet, huh? Or Archer or Huckleberry or Tituba??
