Question... Saw an aquaintance post online that they named their baby girl Adelai. How do you pronounce this?

In Italy it would Ah-day-LAH-ee. It looks like it's missing -de, though (Adelaide).
Or *shudders*, someone wanted to be creative with the name Adele, which in italian would be pronounced Ah-DEH-leh.

I'd pronounce it (I'm Minnesotan) Add-eh-lay.

This is my first thought too. (I'm from Michigan)

Ditto, even the Minnesotan part.

Ah-De-Lay is how I would pronounce it but I agree with retrodancekitty that it should have a -de on the end. I think Adelaide is prettier.

That's my friend's daughter's name and they say it like "ade-uh-lay"

Like Adelaide without the 'd' sound at the end: Aah-duh-lay.

Add-eh-lie, since Adlai is pronounced add-lie.

I thought it was a corruption of Adlai, which is a male name said ad-lie so I would have said ad-uh-lie, but a quick search of Adelai reveals people saying it ad-uh-lay.
