May. 25th, 2011 10:29 pmI'm a few weeks from having my daughter and was curious if you folks think the name we've picked works well with her brother and sister's names.
Her brother is Oliver Milo and her sister is Delilah Pepper. Unless she really doesn't seem to suit it, we were planning on calling her Lucy Marigold. What'cha think?
Also, an acquaintance on facebook posted her (fraternal) twin girl's first names and she's due in August- Kailee and Kailyn. I'm not digging it. Where do you draw the line for names being too matchy? I don't mind the same first initial but.. I think those sound way too alike.

Date: 2011-05-26 05:51 am (UTC)Never feel like you're too picky. Seriously, their names are what they'll be known by for the rest of their life, other than nicknames. They might end up hating nicknames (some people do, for some reason) and just use their given names.
I think names are incredibly important. Hence why seeing those little girls getting such boring and (sorry, in my opinion) kinda trashy sounding names was such a buzzkill. They'll be my son's stepsisters and thank god their father didn't get any input on his name. His idea was to name my son after his D&D character D:
