Named!

I posted this the other day, posing the question of what my new nephew might be called, and offering an invisible puppy as a prize to the person who managed to guess the name.

Well... nobody wins the puppy.  I'm surprised, because it's not as though they came up with an out-of-this-world bizarro name, either.  I would have though that someone would have guessed it, given that it's reasonably common.

Anyway, baby nephew has officially been named...

Benjamin

I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.  Hubby surmised that in this case at least, because it took two days to name the baby, that it was 'a name that you choose when you really can't think of anything else.'  Certainly in this case, I tend to agree.  Oh well, it could have been a lot worse (not that they would have called him anything kre8tiv or out there anyway).

Thanks for playing my little time-wasting game!

I happen to LOVE Benjamin. Of course, it's the name of my super awesome brother though, so I may be a bit biased. =P

I didn't used to like the name Benjamin, but then I met the cutest little two week old baby boy with the name and pretty much fell in love with it! Little Benny, awe, so cute. It's a great solid strong normal name that can easily fit a toddler to an old man.

I think it wasn't guessed because Oliver and Benjamin are fairly different styles. Although, they do sound nice as a sib-set!

I have a BIL (from new marriage) who is 6 and his name is Benjamin and I don't know... he's a problematic child and I HATE the nn Benny for some reason. But Benjamin is pretty nice.

My older son is named Benjamin. And it was definitely because we LOVED the name, not because we couldn't think of anything else. Everyone has different tastes.

My aunt and uncle took days to name both of their children and it wasn't because they couldn't think of anything, it was because they liked so many names they couldn't decide which ones they wanted to use!

My kids are Benjamin Thomas and Calvin Robert. Fairly boring names, but we like they the are strong and solid. It doesn't hurt they they're Presidents' names, either! ;) The middle names are after great-grandfathers, so they would have had those middle names no matter what the first names were.

Benjamin is a great name! I think it goes well with Oliver, too.

At least they didn't put any weird punctuation in it. Benjamin is a nice enough name.

It is my hubby's and F-I-L's name. So I am rather fond of it. :)
