I think it's very sweet but still kind of spunky (I associate the name with Parker Posy). I'm not sure how well it would "fit" say a 40 year old woman, so I like it more as a nickname. Josephine would be great.
I think it's really cute, but it wouldn't age well so it's best as a nickname. It seems like a bit of a stretch for Josephine, but at the same time, it still somehow works.
Posey is an actual nn for Josephine. Kinda weird, I know. But you know how Peggy or Daisy can be a nn for Margaret? Or Polly can be a nn for Mary? Like that. =]
I didn't know that, although it crossed my mind that it could be like the examples you listed. Interesting. Josephine in on my list for still way far off, hypothetical children, but I'll have to keep that in mind!
