I like short names, but Ra is a little too short for my taste. I also don't like the way it sounds.

I think of Mumm-Ra... the band first and then the villain from Thundercats.

I think it's a terrible name for a baby. My first thought is the Egyptian god and that's a little too much pressure to put on a baby. Besides, it looks and sounds like a nickname. I prefer whole names as first names, rather than giving the baby a nickname for his first name.

I read it Rah like the egyptian Sun God Ra, but I prefer Ravi (RAH-vee), which is an indian name meaning "sun"

i tie it too closely to egyptian mythology to think of it on a person. i also associate it with the goa'uld (major bad guy alien) in stargate, so it has definite negative connotation.
