Here in Australia, (as I am sure some of you will know) there is a reporter called Harry Potter (he is much older than *the* Harry Potter) but this is not the point of my post.

I remember a story my father told me from when he was a boy :

He and his three football friends were wandering around Glenelg and it was rather late, they were all around 16 or so and had managed to attract the attention of the police (Dad didn't tell me how), anyway, they were asked their names so the police could contact the kids parents and make sure they knew they were safe etc.  So of course, there was my dad and his brother, Rodney and Richard Rowe, then another of their friends with a normal name (forget whom it was) and lastly there was one with a 'famous' name.

So when he was asked his name and he replied, the police thought the boys were having a game, they asked again and he replied with his full name.  This ended up with a trip in the police car to his place... where his parents confirmed they had named their son...

Alfonso.

Their last name :

Capone.

This kid has his life already planned for him. Call the police, they need to keep an eye on him.

If he was doing a good job, you wouldn't have a clue what he was up to!

oh god hahaha.

there's a grave for a harry potter at my grandparents' cemetary, and i've filed paperwork for james bond and william smith. none of those names are really uncommon though, so i guess i shouldn't be so surprised. (still, it's kind of cool to say i waited on james bond and will smith.)

I work with a guy who has the same name as a famous actor, and everytime he gets paged, you can hear giggling in the background from the others in the office all "lol we're paging an actor" lol. I'm sure customers think WHAT?! too hahha.

I'd hate to have a famous first and last name! My dad is Ralph Loren, and even spelled differently he gets comments and jokes, but it's not as bad as say, my ex's dad- Bart Simpson. :D

I went to high school with Jeffrey Dahmer's second cousin, who was also named Jeffrey Dahmer. He was a year or two older than me, JUST older enough to have been born before the shit hit the fan.

So my high school had a lot of "Jeffrey Dahmer to counselling... Jeffrey Dahmer to couselling."

I grew up with a Tom Sawyer. People always used to doubt him when he told them his name. Substitute teachers always thought they were funny, making jokes about painting fences and whatnot.
