Speakng of sharing famous names.
Feb. 4th, 2011 02:28 pmHere in Australia, (as I am sure some of you will know) there is a reporter called Harry Potter (he is much older than *the* Harry Potter) but this is not the point of my post.
I remember a story my father told me from when he was a boy :
He and his three football friends were wandering around Glenelg and it was rather late, they were all around 16 or so and had managed to attract the attention of the police (Dad didn't tell me how), anyway, they were asked their names so the police could contact the kids parents and make sure they knew they were safe etc. So of course, there was my dad and his brother, Rodney and Richard Rowe, then another of their friends with a normal name (forget whom it was) and lastly there was one with a 'famous' name.
So when he was asked his name and he replied, the police thought the boys were having a game, they asked again and he replied with his full name. This ended up with a trip in the police car to his place... where his parents confirmed they had named their son...
Alfonso.
Their last name :
Capone.
