Thoughts on the name Daxton? Nickname obviously would be Dax, big sister is Deziree.
So I mean, Dax and Dezz.. is that, weird? lol Thanks in advance!

Daxton sounds made up, and Dax and Dez is too cutesy.

I think it's too close. What about Dashiell nn Dash? I don't like alliteration but Dashiell is more solid than Daxton in my opinion.

It'd be less bad if Desiree was spelled right.

I'm not a fan of Daxton either as it seems made up (which I believe it is?).

Daxton isn't a real name and Desiree should be spelled with a s, not a z. Dax and Dezz just look and sound terrible together, or separately. They both look like names from a sci-fi movie.

Daxton sounds made up and...I find it ugly, tbh.

Daxton is absolutely NMS, and I really don't understand the need for alternate spelling, Desiree is a beautiful name as it is.

Daxton sounds a little weird...like it might be the name of a gas station or off brand of paper towels?

Dexter would be nice, and sounds similar to Daxton but more...like a real name. Rex, Baxter, Axel, Max etc. are some other cool "x" names. If you want another "D" name, you might like: Dorian, Dimitri, Dominic, Drake (I think Drake and Dezz sound great together!), Declan, Derrick, Darren, Dane, Dino, Dean, Devon, David, Dustin

imo it's pretty awful.
What about Dexter?

I don't mind Daxton too much, but I agree with the above comments that Dexter might be a better fit. Also, maybe if you're having second thoughts about the alliteration between the siblings' names, it may not be the best idea. To each their own, but I wouldn't deliberately name the second kid based on the first child's name.

I truly am curious (and not meaning to sound condescending):
Why does one name have to be spelled differently (Deziree), and the other completely made up (Daxton?!)?

I honestly am curious what makes certain people lean toward uber-creative names and spellings.

That being said, if you are determined to name your son Daxton, I think Dez and Dax fit well as a sibset, considering.

Ahh, I gotcha.

I have always liked hearing new and unique names, but I always lean toward traditional simply because I dread having to constantly spell out or pronounce names for people.

I think going with something 'x' themed is still cute, and works with Dezz.

From previous suggestions, I think:
Dexter
Axel
Baxter

What is your husband's taste like? Maybe if we knew some names that he likes, we can help find common ground for both of you! =)

Neither of them is really my style, but they do make a good sibset. Maybe a little bit matchy, but I've seen worse.

I recently saw that a guy I dated in the past, and his wife, named their little boy Daxtin. I don't think it's horrible, not really my taste. I like Dax on its own though.
Personally, I think getting opinions is good, but take them with a grain of salt. ;) Name your child what you love and what feels right to you. If you want another D name, go for it!

I should have mentioned also, I like the spelling "Daxton" much more than Daxtin!
