SO issues

ok so ladies--- what do you do when you finally start narrowing down your list of names and then your SO turns down almost every single one of them???
Every time i start to fall in love with a name he's like "no"
I mean I feel like i should be able to name one boy and one girl anything i want b/c i compromised and said the first boy and girl are names he and HIS family like....
I like them ....now.. but i would have NEVER chosen these names on my own... none of them were even on my list---ever!!!

I'd probably tell him what you just posted here. Especially the part about YOU compromising on the first set of names.

I'm not even pregnant and I went throught that with my husband. I'd be finding names and EVERY single one I really liked he'd shoot down. I finally decided that 1.) I'm not pregnant so it's not urgent that we agree and 2.) I told him if he wouldnt come up with names that he liked, he didnt get to tell me he didnt like the ones I did =) He's a lot more mellow about not immediately jumping back with a no now. He'll think about them at least, which is all I really wanted to begin with.

I have to remind myself of #1 all the time. I say, "I have a new favorite name," and he says, "okaaaaayyyyy," and I say (without his asking for it), "It's Susanna," and he says, "Okaaaaaayyy."

I know for sure he's thinking, "we have two cats that already have names and we're not having children yet. What are you thinking about that for??!"

So I don't tell him anymore. When we do get preggers though, he'll hear them all and I'll probably cry for days. He likes Katelynn, Austin and Madison. :/ I love those too, but I want a way less common name...you know...below the top 20. lol.
