Kreatyve Spëlling comes to Por'chugaal
Jan. 19th, 2011 10:50 pmSo the creative spelling thing comes to Portugal - a thing I never thought would happen, as we have a strict list of names you can name a child, with little to no margin to spell things differently. There's a loophole, though: if one of the parents is foreign-born or has double nationality (like me), they can name the child whatever they want.
Thus, tv personality Luciana Abreu and footballer Yannick Djaló (born in Guinea-Bissau) have named their daughter:
Lyonce Viiktórya
This will not go well in a country where half the girls are named Ana.
