Ophelia June Whipple.

she's Ophelia Whipple. Feela Nipple. I cannot believe my ex named her daughter this. She obviously didn't think about the baby's father's name. Not to mention Ophelia is a terrible cursed name to begin with.

lol, yeah. People name their daughters stuff like Delilah, and if I wanted to sit here and think longer about it I'm sure I could come up with more names that have some unfortunate literary connotation. It doesn't really matter, imo. No one's going to be like "HEY DELILAH, CUT ANY HAIR RECENTLY?"

I think Ophelia June is really pretty, and with a last name like Whipple, it's probably hard to find names that don't sound goofy paired with it. I never would've gotten 'feela nipple' from that, either. There's no N sound, for one, and for another...it's just a stretch really.

Of all the atrocious names we encounter on a daily basis, this is kind of a breath of fresh air, imo.

I don't mind the name itself but I think there are a lot of opportunities for kids to make fun of the "ophelia whipple" combo, as she gets older.

Just me personally, but I wouldn't necessarily turn down a name on that basis alone. Kids are cruel, and will find ANYTHING to make fun of. Kid could be named Madison, but they'd tease her because she's too fat or too tall or wears braces or what have you.

I got teased a lot when I was a kid, and yes, oftentimes the bullies would make some 'funny' combo of my name to tease me with - but they would have teased me regardless, and I grew up to love my name, so ...

ita. I can't even remember ever meeting someone who was so scarred by being teased for their name as a child that they currently wouldn't want their name. I think the precaution around not naming your kid something they'll get teased for is blown out of proportion.

Yeah, pretty much. I mean ... probably not a good idea to name your kid Holden Hiscock (lol, that's supposedly an actual kid around here; hope it was just a rumor!) or Harry Dick or anything outright like that, but most names are fine in general.

I think Ophelia June is awesome, actually, and I don't see Ophelia as being more "cursed" than the name of any other tragic heroine ever. I think Whipple is just kind of an unfortunate last name, because no matter what it's going to make for a funny-sounding combo.

There are a lot of contenders out there for the worst name ever, and this doesn't even come close, imo.

I think with a last name of Wipple, you're going to get teased regardless of what your first name is. Regardless, I think Ophelia is a BEAUTIFUL name, and it is not cursed in anyway. I'd use it, but my husband vetoed it long ago.

Wow I actually really love it. Ophelia June sounds fabulous together... and I agree with everyone else in that with the last name Whipple, she'll probably get teased no matter what. I grew up with kids with the last name Nipple... there's really not much you can do!

I love the name Ophelia. I think Ophelia June is nice and not even close to the worst name evar, even paired with the last name. Whipple is kind of a funny name to begin with, but I don't automatically think "nipple" when I hear it.

I'm usually the person who finds the most offensive nick out of a possible name, but I think "Feel ya nipple" is a really huge stretch. And though it is the name of a tragic character, sorry to say that most of the world probably doesn't know Shakespeare well enough to point out that the kid is somehow doomed.

I think overall it's a pretty name and well done.

My grandmother had a high school teacher named Ophelia Dick, so...it could be a lot worse. Though I'm pretty sure in that case it was her married name, and back in the days when not taking your husband's name would apparently have been worse than being named Ophelia Dick. :P
