Girls names...
Jul. 23rd, 2006 07:27 pmI need middle names to go with "Alyssa"
It's finally a girls name that Scott and I have agreed on... We've tried the following:
Lacey Jean
Emma Leighann
Emily Anne
Damey Donelle
Kailynn Taylor
.... and we just can't seem to both agree one on or a mixture of names...
He came to me tonight and said, "Ally... A-L-L-Y" I said, "As in... Alley Cat?" He goes, "Yeah!" I said, "How about.... Alyssa..." and he says, "Yup - I like Alyssa."
Now we need a middle name.
My middle name is Dawn
His mother's name is Dianne
My mothers name is Charlene
Grandmothers are Minnie Sue Howard and Norma Dell Hall (neither of the names I care for much..)
Alyssa Taylor?
Alyssa Leighann?
Alyssa Donelle?
Alyssa Dawn?
Alyssa Dianne?
Alyssa Lynn? (His sister and matchmaker in the first place)
Our last name is Lausch (Pronounced Losh.... like Lost with an h)
Just asked about Alyssa Lynn.. he likes it. What do we think?

Date: 2006-07-24 02:43 am (UTC)I'm partial to Alyssa Dianne because Diane is my mn and it has served me well. It's a nice pretty name that is rarely used and terribly underappreciated imo.
The significance of Lynn makes sense. I would really care for that combo otherwise. Lynn is a nice fn but a pretty dull mn. And Alyssa already has the ly sound in it.
Ultimately I don't think combo flow matters that much though. If you want to honor someone as a namesake I think you should decide which person, not which name you like. Jmo though.

Date: 2006-07-24 02:49 am (UTC)His sister, Lynn (whose birth name is Lyora pronounced LEE-Or-Uh) introduced us and for some reason - every girls name we've ever played with... well.. not everyone.. but the few we were semi-serious about "Kailynn" being an example - used Lynn.
You're right about the double ly.... but that doesn't ultimately matter to me.

Date: 2006-07-24 04:46 am (UTC)Do you know the name Linnea? (lyn-NAY-uh) It's really pretty and would make use of Lynn. With a mn with no L sound, I think it would be really nice with your last name.
