Lily and Lottie

Two posts in a row? Does that make me a post whore? ::ducks from the blow of the resounding "YES"::

Are Lottie and Lily too similar for nicknames for twin girls? Part of my ideal family is a set of twin girls and thats what I'm planning on while picking out my names. I've kind of set on Charlotte for the youngest of the two because I love the nickname Little Lottie. At the same time, I'm falling in love with Lillian the more I see it, which would be Lily as a NN. The names themselves are different enough that it wouldn't be a problem, and the nicknames would only be a family thing, as I plan on having them go by Lillian and Charlotte with else. But is Lily/Lottie just too much?

No, not at all. They both have hard consonants to differ them. I love the pair together!

no, i think if they have very different names like lilian and charlotte, lily and lottie are cute nicknames, but they can get away from the similar names if they wish. although if lily decides she doesn't want to have a similar name, lillian and lottie still sound similar.

and you're not a post whore, i've already posted 3 times in here today! just not in a row.

how do you plan on having twin girls?

...Are you serious?
WTF?

What, do you plan on living some Fairy Tale life where whatever gender you want at the time you'll get? And you are going to put your body through fertility treatment just to get twins? You realize you could get twin boys too, right?

I could understand if you were twelve but you being eighteen just makes your comment scary and weird.

And I have no idea how I'm going to make it work. Lol. I have my entire life all planned out for myself, including the ages I'm going to have my four children and the sexes, and this is probably going to be the most difficult to make work for me.

Sounds to me like you want to make it a reality.

I doubt a doctor will consider you for fertility treatment if your only reason is, "But I want twin girls!"

Hahahahah, oh boy.

There's no way to ensure you will get twins or girls. There's no guaruntee at all.

You could end up with septuplets all boys.
Ohhh, but that might ruin your plan. Probably put the extra ones up for adoption, right?

i think lily and lottie are awesome twin names.

I think they're very pretty! ^_^ Only I prefer Lily as a full name instead of Lillian. =D

i personally don't like the NN Lottie but they are different enough IMO. LOVE Charlotte as a name :)

I think Lily & Lottie are ok together since they're nn's. and I agree w/the poster who said that they can alway use their full names to get away from any similar sounds. and the consonant sounds are different enough too. I think they're cute.

I think they're adorable twin names... but I wouldn't 'plan' on having twin girls, chances are it won't happen... even just as sibling names if you have 2 girls, I think they're really nice names.

Nah, not so much.

I really love Lily, but I hate Charlotte/Lottie.
The only thing is that Lilly and Lottie sounds like 'Lillian Lottie', so one name rather than two individual names. So call the first one Lottie.. then it will be Lottie & Lilly. lol

I don't think Lily and Charlotte nn Lottie would be problematic as long as "Little Lottie" were allowed to go by Charlotte outside of the home. Otherwise, yes, I would say they are problematic - especially if they are twins, as they're going to get mixed up regardless. As a Charlotte (and a twin) myself, however, I have to say that I find Lottie a rather insipid nickname - personal taste though.

As for planning your life and wanting twins etc. etc., it is easiest to naturally conceive twins later in your fertile period.
