Minnilee was my paternal grandmother. I've never heard that anywhere else, so I don't know if her mother just put Minnie and Lee together or what. My husband is 1/2 Chinese and 1/2 Native Hawaiian. His great great great ...great grandmother's name is Puakailima Kaholokula and he has many other really cool uncommon older names on the Hawaiian side.
I've never heard Neva before either. I like it a lot though.
I just got a piece of mail yesterday for an elderly gentleman who apparently used to live at my address. His name? Arville. That seems uncommon enough to me!

Date: 2010-11-08 03:43 am (UTC)Minnilee and Lurancy just make me feel awkward and I hate them.
Opal, Odessa, Dovie... eh.
