It reminds me of Ahsoka from the new series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It's a pretty terrible animated series, so it's not really a good association. That's exactly how it's spelled on that series. It's pronounced "Uh-Soak-Uh."
Yeah, that's the assumption I'm going on too (I saw it on facebook and haven't seen them yet). I don't know if they based it on Star Wars but it was the only reference I could find when I googled it and I had to look up a clone wars clip on youtube to figure out how to pronounce it!
Uh, it's such a lame series and such a lame, pointless character to be named after (they even kind of sexualize her and she's supposed to be a "child").
For what it's worth, I ran across a reference the other day to the name Ahsoka being the name of an ancient philosopher or something like that, and the Star Wars character being named after her. I can't remember where I read that and I haven't been able to find it again, but I don't think it's something I dreamed up because I'd never even heard the name until reading that reference.
"Real" name or not, I do think it's very awkward and unattractive.

I really don't like it.
