Meadow

Is it totally ridiculous?

I once knew a girl named Prairie; I thought her name was so silly. (Made worse by the fact that she said her *true* name was "sssssshhhhhhhiiissssss" this weird whistle sound that was supposedly the sound of wind blowing tall grass. She was raised in a commune as a Rainbow Child or in the Rainbow Family... whatever it's called.)

What's worse? Prairie or Meadow? (I think we'll all agree that the sound of wind in grass is beyond limits insane.)

I like it, but only as a middle name. I guess its because I knew a family whos last name was Meadow, so I have a hard time seeing it as a first name :)

I know a girl named Prairie, she got picked on a lot in elementary school. I was friends with her from elementary on and the name really grew on me. Good for her though, but I would never name my child this.

My mom was in the local branch of the Rainbow Family. They had picnics and gatherings my mom always took me to them. I liked it. My name is Gazelle.

I came in contact with lots of 'unique', hippie, Rainbow names too, but I was little, so I only I remember, Redwood(this woman actually looked like a redwood. She was reeeeally tall and pretty and had long copper-red hair. I think her name was really Catherine, tho.) and Riverman, who just looked like a handsome homeless man.

Prairie is bad.

Meadow, however, is not.

And if my name was the sound of the wind whistling through the grass, I'd kill myself.

"sssssshhhhhhhiiissssss'

Well, at least it's not kre8tive. can you imagine if her name was "ssccccccchhhhyyyysssss" or something? now THAT would be bad.

lol sorry. moving on.

Meadow is nms, but def much better than Prairie. though I have no idea why, since if you think about it they're both basically big grassy fields...

I think both Prairie and Meadow are lovely.
Reminds me of Prairie Dawn from Sesame Street.

hmmm Meadow is ok but I wouldn't use it as a first name. It reminds me of the character from The Sopranos.
Prairie doesn't cut it as a name for me.

Both are pretty bad. Though my dad grew up with the Trail kids: Rocky, Prairie, and Dusty. Real names.

I don't suppose anyone here knows Lano and Woodley? It makes me think of that episode where Frank tried to change his name to the sound of wind blowing. I can't believe someone has actually done it in real life!

Prairie, all I think about is 'Little House on the Prairie'. But Meadow, ehh it's almost as bad, but it's mediocre to me. No offence or anything, that's just my opinion.

Honestly I think Meadow is worse. I don't like either, though.

I don't like meadow. I like the idea of the name, but the WORD itself is s funny word to me. prairie is also weird and hard for me to spell.

i knew a girl named Cactus once. that's another really yucky "natural" name. the word cac-tus... it's not a pretty word.

I kind of like Meadow. Prairie makes me think of Prairie Dawn from Sesame Street. And, wow, weird, weird kid, although with that upbringing, it's to be expected.
