1. So, you know on Alice in Wonderland, her cat's name is Dinah (Dye-nuh). Is that how you spell it? Or is Dinah pronounced like Dee-nah? How about Dena or Dina? Are all of these pronounced Dee-nuh? And once you get the right spelling for DYE-nuh, does it sound like you're saying "diner" with a British accent, or does it actually sound like a name?

2. Which of these is better, if any (for someone hoping to get the nickname "Kes" out of it):
Kes
Kessa
Kesana / Kesanna
Kesandra / Kessandra
Kesandria / Kesandrea or Kessandria / Kessandrea

3. Is Anice or Annis too close to "anus" to be a good name?

4. How would you pronounce Evalena? I'm thinking ehv-ah-LEE-nuh, but maybe the first letter says eee instead of eh.

5. How about Adeline? ah-dah-lynn, ah-dah-leen, or ah-dah-line (line as in clothes line)? It isn't a terribly common name, but it's very close to Madeline. Like Addison to Madison. I think I'd avoid using either of those, just because they are so close to a popular name. (well, Addison is #107 for 2005, so still popular, but no where near as popular as Madison is).

1. In Alice she does call her cat Dinah and it is spelled Dinah. But perhaps Dye-nuh is a British pronunciation because the actual pronunciation of the Biblical name Dinah (as in Jacob's daughter) is Dee-nah, Dina and Deena would just be alternative spellings of Dinah.

2. I don't really like any of the "Kes" begining names you listed. I think Kessia is nice though.

3. Yes it is too close to Anus, in my opinion.

4. I'd say Ehv-ah-LEE-nuh

5. I'd say ah-duh-LINE, unless the person were french in which case I'd say ah-del-een.
