i lived in california 2 yrs, england 8 yrs, texas 3 yrs, utah 5 yrs, colorado 3 yrs, arizona 4 yrs (hey, you asked!). i would pronounce it gee-nee. i wouldn't be surprised to hear it pronounced jean either.

well, i guess i should say "jee-nee" instead of "gee-nee." i mean jee like "gee whiz" not "gee" as in geek.
