Today I came across several K names, or hard C sounding names. What is up with this? Do you think parents with K names feel a greater need to pass on the sound than other parents?
Examples:
Dad: Klay
Sons: Kalob, Kamdon, Kolbon
Dad: Kevin
Mom: Kayleen (Kay)
Sons: Cole, Cameron, Carter (yes, these are spelled correctly with c's, but still have the same sound)
Mom: Kathy
Kids: Karla, Kiel

Date: 2010-08-09 02:39 pm (UTC)His name is Kory, and the names they are considering:
Boys:
Kaysen
Kalon
Girls:
Kaydence
Khloe
I found keeping an open, non-judgmental expression on my face very difficult.
I think once families are in this K-only thing, they feel they MUST continue it, otherwise it's like admitting that they're being horrifically tacky. Fight the good fight and all.

The last one isn't as bad as the first, but still pretty bad.

Date: 2010-08-09 10:06 pm (UTC)My co-worker is having a little girl in a month but if she had been a boy she wanted to name him Kayleb. I cringe thinking about it. The little girl is going to be Shyloh. I wish she wasn't using the y but its much better than Kayleb.
